Interview with Alpha Wave Movement |
|
Astreaux World has the pleasure of doing an interview with Gregory Kyryluk... whose musical project Alpha Wave Movement, is a listener favorite on the station.
We’ve played his music on the station for many years now, and now he has taken the time to tell us about Alpha Wave Movement...
AW: If you had to describe your music to someone who has never heard it before, how would you respond?
Its music for the mind and a complete distraction from anything you’ve ever heard on mainstream radio. Alternative music without the angst.
AW: Can you describe the way you receive your inspirations for your musical creativity?
Simply stated when the river of inspiration hits it comes in one large wave and I tend to ride that wave or moment of inspiration until all its energy dissipates. I usually draw inspiration from being out in nature on a hike, walk or drive along the coast. Living here in the US we have a wide variety of geography and I take it all in especially the deserts of the
southwest and green of the northwest. The shape of the land has always been a creative muse for my music
from day one.
AW: Of all of your music that you have created over the years, what is YOUR favorite of your own creation track and why?
I would have to say as Alpha Wave Movement I enjoyed creating the music of "Cosmology" the subtle spacey music to the almost space rock like energy gives the release a lot of dynamic range.
However my one solo CD "Ephemeral Highways" under my birth name Gregory Kyryluk hits home because the music was much more complex compositionally and on the merit that that this recording is one of deep personal sentiment.

Interview with Transcend with Time |
|
Astreaux World caught up with Transcend with Time before their release of the new CD "The Calling Whisper" on January 31, 2012 at CDBaby - http://cdbaby.com/cd/transcendwithtime2
AW: Can you describe
the way you receive your inspirations for your musical creativity?
My inspiration comes from life, and my love for music. Being
a musician was something I always wanted to be. So in some way, that’s what
kept me motivated throughout the years. I won’t lie there are times when I
question myself, but music has always been my form of therapy through the good
and bad times. It is also gratifying when listeners compliment you on your
work. That’s the ultimate gift of all.
AW: Of all of your
music that you have created over the years, what is YOUR favorite of your own
creation track and why.
Wow, that’s a tough one to answer, but if I had too choose
one track, I think it would have to be “In Loving Memory” off my 2009 album “A
Haunting Presence.” The reason is I wrote the music and lyrics of that song for
my late grandmother. She was a big inspiration in my life, so this was my gift
to her. It was the most difficult piece of music I’ve ever written both
emotionally & mentally.
AW: How do you want
your music to affect your fans and listeners?
Since I tend to compose music that is not within the norm of
New Age/Ambient music, I hope listeners don’t stray away. Being that my music
is filled with different emotions, I anticipate that listening to Transcend
with Time will take fans/listeners through an emotional journey. Close your
eyes, and let the music guide you on a thrilling adventure both on a
challenging and psychological level.
