| How to broadcast your own internet radio station. |

Absolutely. And you can do so inexpensively at Live365. You could be broadcasting the music you want to hear instead of waiting on DJ's to play your favorites. If you have music to share with others, you can do it legally with our Live365 system.
How easy is it? For a while we did it with just a dialup connection! But we recommend broadband so you don't go nuts. You will need an account at Live365
Can't I broadcast my station for free?
Sure you can. With Winamp's free software you can stream mp3's over the internet for free. Unless you own (as in created, wrote, performed, produced ) the music, there are copyright laws to consider, so be careful about what you broadcast and make sure you're legal. And unless your daddy owns the internet, you won't reach a very large audience by broadcasting directly from your PC. For instance, with a DSL or cable connection you can broadcast to about 3 or 4 56k-modem users at one time. That's it! Beyond that the stream quality will erode and everyone will complain about drops. Use the Caster Club's Listener Calculator to see just how few listeners your DSL connection will support (use 32 kbits for your stream bitrate, the highest quality allowed for 56k modem listeners). That's the "penalty for success" with music streaming. The more listeners you want/get, the more expensive it costs to stream music. It's ok if you're just playing music from your own collection. Bandwidth can get expensive. That's why we're still with Live365. They pay the cost to stream (for us, over 1000 people around the world every day) plus they handle payment of royalties to artists. We supply the music and the creativity, and they handle the rest.
Broadcast for Free on Live365 (make a profit too!) Every month broadcasters pay a fee for broadcasting on Live365 which helps to cover some of the costs of hosting your station. But some broadcasters have never had to open their wallet to pay for services. You can stream music through Live365 and never pay a fee, and you can even earn money with your broadcast. Live365 pays a small bounty when you help them get new customers, and a small commission when VIP listeners tune in to your station. The commissions are small but add up, and after a month, we make almost enough to pay our Live365 broadcasting fees, and even some of our web hosting fees. So you could possibly broadcast for free or for profit with Live365. You won't make money broadcasting with Winamp, but you can easily make money with Live365. Even if you don't make a bundle, you can still broadcast for as little as $9.95 per month - your own station for less than ten bucks a month. And they give a 7-Day Free Trial too! Try it out. Click the banner below to start your broadcasting journey. You'll get an account, free broadcast software, and all you need to provide is the music. Be prepared for great madness! It's a fun, rewarding, addicting hobby. At least 1000 people come by "my place" every day to hear what's going on. We can also point you to many many places where you can get help broadcasting, setting up your system, finding music, etc. But first get started by signing up with Live365. When you get serious about your station and website, look into high-end packaged websites for broadcasters available here. They can even build you a site and a station all at once if you have the money. They're expensive but worth the money.
